D. R. Grimes, President


Former CEO , NetBank, Inc.

Under Mr. Grimes leadership NetBank became the largest and most successful Internet Bank in America. With over 250,000 accounts and $3.9 billion in assets NetBank established a standard of excellence for the Financial Services industry. NetBank achieved profitability in less than eight months following a July, 1997 IPO and remained profitable continuously thereafter, an accomplishment unmatched by any other Internet company.

Mr. Grimes was appointed to the Thrift Institutions Advisory Council in 2000, where he served with other CEOs in advising the Federal Reserve Board on strategic issues of significance to the industry.

After retiring from NetBank, Inc. in March of 2002 Mr. Grimes was involved in several philanthropic and educational activities.

Previously Mr. Grimes was employed by Servantis Systems Inc., now CheckFree, as the President of several operating divisions. While at Servantis he specialized in growing revenue streams through acquisitions and was responsible for several very successful turnarounds.

Mr. Grimes began his banking career with Trust Company of Georgia, now SunTrust, where he served in a number of technology and product development positions.
